“...Our goal is for these children to become instruments of peace."

Family, Friends and Musical Advocates!

For 10 years the Shropshire Music Foundation has fostered ethnic tolerance and promoted peace for nearly 10,000 war-affected children and adolescents through the establishment of on-going music education and performance programs in Kosovo, Uganda and Northern Ireland. Inspired by Shropshire's work, I've been dedicated to raising awareness and funds this past year. Most recently, I organized the Instruments of Peace Benefit Concert and Art Auction which raised nearly $3000 and brought together various art forms and performing arts organizations in the St. Louis community.  Last spring, I joined forces with students and faculty from my alma mater, The Eastman School of Music, in the "Practice for Peace” campaign.

I encourage you to:
Visit the organization’s website at www.shropshirefoundation.org
Watch the informational video that attests to the powerful capacity of music.

Contributions made to foundations that work to redress psychosocial trauma and advance emotional health by use of the performing arts do have a notable impact. It's this global awareness occurring domestically and internationally that influences me as a performer.
