Instruments of Peace Benefit Concert and Art Auction
was a success on so many levels. The awareness of the Shropshire Music Foundation and International Play Ground's work has increased exponentially. We raised nearly $3000 and sold every auction item, all while celebrating and supporting our local and global communities.
These two foundations exemplify that the arts serve a function in the lives of war-affected children. Because of the funds raised, Shropshire can begin re-instigating its tolerance programs in Northern Ireland; International Play Ground has just selected youth refugee students for the 2011 season, and the funds will certainly help with the preparations for their upcoming performance.
